In the Golden Age of Steam, small trains like this criss-crossed the busy British Isle, ferrying much-needed freight to towns and cities, every hour, of every day. On the busiest lines, trains rumbled by every 15 minutes, day or night, rain or shine. The more scenic railways such as the Caledonian, featured in this set, often lavished their locomotives and coaches with beautiful liveries. Freight companies saw a chance for free advertising and began doing the same, emblazoning their wagons with their company name. Relive the glory days of steam with this gorgeous mixed freight set, that will feel at home on any layout.
This set is partially new and partially used, as described below. It features:
--NEW--
-Caledonian Railway 0-4-0 "Pug" Locomotive, in beautiful blue-and-white livery over a contrasting black. This little engine is one of my personal favorites, and is capable of hauling far more than what comes in this pack. The detailing in the cab is especially beautiful for such a small model.
-Edinburgh coal wagon. Superb detailing along the running boards, crisp paint.
--USED--
-Unmarked coal wagon. Very nice detailing, runs very smooth, no issues.
-Sodor Fuel Co wagon. This one has slight cosmetic damage, but nothing that affects operation on the railway. Smooth runner.
-Unmarked Brake van. Rolls very smooth, all this one needs is a railway marking. It is generic enough to have been from any of the commonly modeled railways.
Hornby 00 scale products are exceedingly hard to come by in the USA. A simple search on Ebay or Amazon will show that my prices are by far the best in the nation.
