    For auction is a tourist-class dinner menu from the SS Strathenden, dated August 30, 1950. The SS Strathenden was operated by Peninsula & Orient Steam Navigation Company (P&O), a major cruise ship firm based in Great Britain and the oldest cruise line in the world. P&O merged with Carnival Cruise Line in 2003. Passengers dined on their choice of poached halibut, medallions of sweetbreads and ham, or roast pork. Meals included a salad, vegetables, soup, dessert, cheese, and beverages. A wine list was available, with selections for purchase.
