Lon Chaney Man Made Monster -Rare Resin Model -
Universal Classic Horror
Universal's 1941 B-movie, "Man Made Monster," was Lon Chaney, Jr.'s first monster role, predating “The Wolf Man.” It has Chaney surviving a violent bus crash only to become a glowing behemoth with a lethal electrical touch. What fun!
Here is that misunderstood Lonster, stunningly captured as an obscure resin model figure by sculptor, Jim Peavey - a garage kit gem in mint, unbuilt condition. Yes, this one’s a model builder’s dream – a well-proportioned figure with a superb likeness, and flawless resin castings that practically assemble themselves.
Peavey’s Man Made Monster is designed for various finishing options, as the head is cast clear, and the primary body section is partly hollow, allowing wiring and illumination of the head as seen in the film. (Naturally, one could also render the clear head realistically same as any other figure.)
All other model parts are slickly cast in solid resin, and everything is neatly keyed for a precise, seamless fit. Man Made Monster is 1/5 scale, standing 14” tall x 6 ½” wide once built, commanding the attention of any and all onlookers with its powerful presence.
If you missed this monster model milestone way back when, here’s your chance to acquire a figure kit classic.
Please note that this is an original garage kit, not a recast. Sassy's Satellite caters to the true kit collectors worldwide, always offering only original garage kits, never recast kits, whether unbuilt models or professionally assembled & finished items. We are ethically opposed to recasting within the hobby and only deal in authentic original garage kits
