The plates have special ergonomic bends in two planes for ease of use and to provide ricochet of bullets and fragments.
Material: high strength thermally hardened titanium alloy.
Titanium is a very strong metal, significantly superior in strength to steel, but is lighter. Titanium is resistant to corrosion and water, is not a toxic material.
Application
Plates are used in bulletproof vests with special pockets for inserting plates. The plates are designed to protect the chest and back from bullets and fragments of grenades. These plates can also be used for sports and hunting.
Plates are used in body armor of various modifications of type 6B5:
for protection of the chest and dorsal sections - 6B5-12
to protect only the back section - 6B5-13, 6B5-14, 6B5-16, 6B5-17, 6B5-18.
for combined protection of the chest section - 6B5-19.
These plates can be used as a continuous protection of the chest or back, or used as a point to protect certain areas.
Plates provide protection against:
smoothbore weapons
mines and grenades,
5.45 mm pistol bullets,
7.62 mm caliber pistol bullets,
9 mm pistol bullets, in combination with an aramid base(!).
